Poetry Friday

in honor of the lunar eclipse, which we could not see because of cloud cover, and in anticipation of spring

who knows if the moon's

who knows if the moon's
a balloon,coming out of a keen city
in the sky--filled with pretty people?
(and if you and i should

get into it,if they
should take me and take you into their balloon,
why then
we'd go up higher with all the pretty people

than houses and steeples and clouds:
go sailing
away and away sailing into a keen
city which nobody's ever visited,where

always
it's
Spring)and everyone's
in love and flowers pick themselves

Poetry Friday at Panera

We had a little problem with WiFi at home so we are having lunch and poetry at Panera. Panera is our favorite free WiFi location. We often take advantage of it when we travel.

Noach wants to share his favorite. He reads like Charles Kuralt, whose recording he has listened to for many hours.

The Christening
by A. A. Milne

What shall I call
My dear little dormouse?
His eyes are small,
But his tail is e-nor-mouse.
I sometimes call him Terrible John,
'Cos his tail goes on-
And on-
And on.
And I sometimes call him Terrible Jack,
'Cos his tail goes on to the end of his back.
And
I sometimes call him Terrible James,
'Cos he says he likes me calling him names....
But I think I shall call him Jim,
'Cos I am so fond of him.
